resuscitation and promotion of local and indigenous sports among different classes of the rural society, requires identification and introduction of local and indigenous games and sports and careful planning at the strategic and operational levels. but unfortunately so far in the kermanshah province and even at the national level applied research fits this goal have not been conducted. this study aimed to explore and analyze the present situation of the regarding local and indigenous sports and strategic planning for their application, qualitative-quantitative, paradiym was performed. findings from this study showed that facility local and indigenous sports, connection with cultural constructions of rural, benefit from the diversity of local and indigenous sports, respectively most important strengths and non-compliance with health and safety issues in some of the local and indigenous sports, the most important weaknesses on local and indigenous sports of rural areas of kermanshah township is the lack of safety standards. however, existence of the holding of local and indigenous sports festival and insufficient support of local and indigenous sports opportunity to promote and preserve the indigenous culture and existence of legal, are most important opportunities and threat on local and indigenous sport is rural areas of kermanshah township.
